How to get the longest life out of your Bernini Fountain Battery

Rechargeable lead-acid batteries are similar to automobiles batteries. As with your car battery, if you don't use it for a long period of time the battery will not re-charge. It is recommended to charge your battery at least once a month to preserve the life of the battery.

With proper use and treatment, a lead-acid battery can last for years.  Here are some recommendations for getting the longest life from the internal battery:

Tips for using your battery

  • Upon receiving battery, fully charge for 16 hours.
  • Charge battery after 30-40 hours of use
  • Avoid letting the battery fully drain
  • Limit battery exposure to extreme heat or cold

Tips for storing your battery

  • Avoid storing in high temperatures and moist places.
  • Charge the battery fully (16 hours) once a month, even during the off seasons or when not in use.
  • If you do not charge the battery for six months, it may not hold a charge.

How to troubleshoot your battery

The best way to test the battery is with a Voltmeter. A fully charged battery must be putting out a minimum of 5.6 Volts, anything less means the battery is no longer functioning properly. **If you don't have a voltmeter, you may take it to a hardware store & they can test it for you.

Otherwise another way to check is if the indicator light on the charger is staying green or red then the battery is not good.
